2013 WALKS

Here is a full listing of our adventures in 2013. During 2012, our Dad did not really enjoy the best of health, but he is back to his usual self again as we start 2013. The weather, which made 2012 the wettest year on record, we can only hope will improve so that there will be more dry days, giving us more opportunities to walk, amongst all the other calls on Dad's time.
Unable to achieve it in 2012, climbing Pen on the Eskdale side of Scafell Pike remains our prime objective, to complete the Birkett challenge, which we are pleased to say was achieved on 14th August.
We also carry forward the aim for our pal Little Eric to complete the Howgill challenge, only 3 now remaining outstanding-this was achieved on 9th June.
Completing climbing the Wainwright Outlying Fells late in 2009, our pal Little Eric had bagged about 50. Since then his total has risen steadily, reaching 87. With only 17 now outstanding it is our intention to see as many as possible of those done this year, and dare we say maybe for him to complete the challenge.
